27FebEquator wins Hearst pitch

Released: Glasgow Office 18.01.08

Scotland’s No 1 full service digital marketing agency, Equator, has recently launched a new golf microsite for Scottish tourism body VisitScotland.

Designed to provide golfers with a facility to plan and book a golf break without the usual stress, the site offers visitors a range of packages, including accommodation and rounds of golf on your chosen course at competitive rates.  On top of this, additional information relating to the region, local attractions and the all-important 19th hole enhances the user experience.

15JanCustomer Care

Having finally made the big step into Client Services here at Equator I am very pleased to be an Account Executive and being kept busy chasing up on projects, doing briefs, etc.  It’s all a world away from the Reception desk which to be honest I haven’t missed.  I am even beginning to dream about my client and the many jobs that we have on the go for them so engrossed am I in my new role.

Being back at college on Tuesday nights is a bit of a shock to the system after the Christmas break, but thank goodness we now have a new tutor and don’t have to put up with anymore rubbish from the last guy who was totally incompetent and didn’t have a clue what he was doing!!!  Fingers crossed when we get our results in February everyone will have passed ok – no thanks to him.  Anyway, Customer Care is the topic of this module which is very appropriate for myself considering my new role as Account Exec., and I am very much looking forward to practicing all that I learn on my unsuspecting customers – both internal and external.  You have been warned!!

08Jan“Equator promotes Scotland in Christmas drive”

Unfortunately due to the Christmas break this post is a little late!  However it is very exciting to find that The Drum published my press release on VisitScotland’s Christmas campaign almost word for word!  Perhaps this is a regular occurence for PR gurus, but as a novice in this game it was a great end/start to the year!  Below is what was published online by The Drum, and if anyone is really keen to see the original release written by myself then you shall find it in Equator News.  Enjoy and Happy New Year!!

“With the help of digital agency Equator, VisitScotland has given the traditional Twelve days of Christmas a Scottish twist with their environmentally friendly Christmas greeting – The Twelve Treasures of Scotland.

200,000 people throughout the UK and Ireland receive a daily email encouraging them to open the doors on their fully interactive advent calendar which is personalised to each user.  Opening a door automatically enters the visitor into that day’s prize draw to win one of the fantastic Scottish themed prizes on offer, with the winner being announced the following day.

John McLeish, Equator’s managing director, said:’It’s fantastic that Equator has been so closely involved in creating a campaign that promotes a fantastic selection of Scottish prizes to a large number of people.  It really shows the variety that Scotland has to offer and we hope that once the campaign has finished people will contine to visit and experience the country’s many treasures.’”

06DecKay’s in NMA

Our very own Kay MacGregor has got a mention in NMA and a pretty picture (taken by myself – I know you’ll all be queing up for me to take yours now!!).  This is what they had to say:

“Online marketing agency Equator has hired Kay MacGregor as client services director.  She was head of integration at Tequila in Dublin after four years in Dubai heading teams at OgilvyOne and McCann.”

NMA: Moves section, 06.12.07

Brief but ever so punchy!  If you want to find out a bit more about Kay and what she has done before coming to Equator you can read the original release posted on my blog in November.

22NovEx-Tequila Head of Integration announced as Client Services Director at Equator

Equator is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Client Services Director.  Kay MacGregor joins the agency with over 14 years experience of delivering integrated marketing campaigns at an international level.  As head of Equator’s client servicing team, her focus is to ensure that clients gain added value from the agency through a service that consistently exceeds expectations.

MacGregor was Head of Integration at Tequila in Dublin following four years in Dubai heading up teams at OgilvyOne and McCanns.  Prior to her Middle East move she worked with Tequila in London for six years as Associate Director and New Business Director.  MacGregor’s experience includes a long list of international brands including Jamesons, Omega, Rado, Jumeirah hotels, Motorola and Renault.

Talking of the appointment, MacGregor said: ‘I am really excited to be a part of such a positive and enthusiastic team.  Equator has a great client list and I am looking forward to working with the team here to develop great campaigns that help us grow both our clients’ business as well as our own’.

John McLeish, Equator’s Managing Director, said: ‘I am delighted to add someone of Kay’s calibre to our team.  She is an important signing and will play a vital role in the continued growth of Equator.  Her breadth of experience will be a platform for adding value to our existing clients and identifying new opportunities.’

Following continued growth and recent business wins Equator has gone through a management re-structure, which has created several Account Director openings.

14NovEquator boosts its green credentials

I am pleased to announce that Equator is doing its bit for the environment by implementing a new recycling scheme.  We have previously been recycling printer cartridges and mobile phones for charity, but now the big mama of recycling ventures is under way.  A number of darlek like containers were delivered to the office last week in which Equator employees now place all unwanted paper, and even CDs to be collected and confidentially shredded and recycled.  Thus not only are we protecting the environment but also ourselves and our client’s work – you can’t get much better than that.

The bike shed army are still campaigning to the building authorities to provide them with some shelter to protect their green transport, so fingers crossed their efforts will pay off sooner rather than later.

Save the ice caps – work with Equator.!!

13NovEquator on The Drum’s homepage

The Drum have kindly altered their release on Equator’s new contract with Ramada Jarvis so here it is:

“Equator wins three year account from Ramada Jarvis

Equator has been awarded a three year contract by hotel chain Ramada Jarvis to be its online marketing agecny.

The Glasgow digital based agency won a four way pitch for what is believed to be a seven figure account.”
