Return of the Pagerank!

Well, well, well.  Since writing my post a few weeks ago about my pagerank loss it would appear that Google has found my site again, and promptly promoted me to PR3.  That is certainly a result.

However, as pleased as I am about this improvement, I also wonder how this happened.  I haven’t been particularly busy writing new posts and there are no new links from trusted sites.  Hmmm…. This makes me wonder.  How exactly is PR calculated?  I’m not sure.  I read some excellent blog posts about it (Chris Garrett Google Authority post, Ian Rogers Pagerank) , but cannot work it out other than the two mentioned methods above.

Never mind though, I am proud of my PR3 and will be proudly showing it off to the SEO guys at our agency.  And I think I will put to an end my page rank rant! :-)

SEO in Glasgow, Scotland

If you are looking for a digital agency in Glasgow, Scotland to provide your SEO needs (or to give the full Sunday name, search engine optimisation) then please get in touch with us at Equator.  We also have an office in London, so do not think we are just limited to Glasgow – check out our client list and you’ll understand

We are specialists in SEO and work with some amazing companies: Ramada Jarvis, SWALEC, Scottish Hydro and Southern Electric to name a few.

To quote a colleague:

“If you’ve not heard of Search Engine Optimisation, or are scared by it, don’t worry. Its not a black art – and those who tell you that SEO is are lying. All SEO entails is ensuring that you give search engine evidence that your website is relevant for a users query.
In simple terms we make sure your web pages use the relevant words in the appropriate ways and get other people to talk about you and show search engines why your website is relevant for a query. As our SEO is focussed around generating sales for clients all these query are business related and designed to drive traffic which is likely to convert into a sale.
SEO folk are geeky – but the good ones will help you understand the whole process without getting into horrendous language such as “keyword co-occurance theory” (which I find interesting but know that only a few others do) or Link Velocity tracking.”
