Mommy…what’s a USP?

The Unique Selling Proposition (also Unique Selling Point) is the marketing concept that was first proposed as a theory to explain a pattern among successful advertising campaigns of the early 1940s. It states that such campaigns made unique propositions to the customer and that this convinced them to switch brands.

Today, a number of businesses and corporations currently use USPs as a basis for their marketing campaigns

Business Development laid bare

Business development includes a number of techniques designed to grow an economic enterprise. Such techniques include, but are not limited to, assessments of marketing opportunities and target markets, intelligence gathering on customers and competitors, generating leads for possible sales, followup sales activity, formal proposal writing and business model design. Business development involves evaluating a business and then realizing its full potential, using such tools as marketing, sales, information management and customer service. For a sound company able to withstand competitors, business development never stops but is an ongoing process. (more…)

More work done today

After a superb day out yesterday meeting some new people, I thought today would have been a quiet day.   But how wrong could I be.  Work-wise, is has been a bit manic, with me trying to sort things out here and there.   A lot of people have been in contact with me today to see what is happening, when are we meeting, what do you want to focus on, who are you, what do you do.   Obviously, I am very closed with all these answers as I don’t want to give too much away, but I give enough to gain interest. Time to start a talk

It is probably best that I now start telling people something and maybe even keep you all up-to-date with my shenanigans in London.   Seeing as most of my workmates are based in beautiful Glasgow, I will endeavour to tell my stories…and keep some of them secret about what happens to a singleton in London.

Certainly there are many stories that I could start telling.
