As some of you know I am a member of the Entrepreneurial Exchange.
The Entrepreneurial Exchange is Scotland’s leading members’ organisation for ambitious, growth-orientated entrepreneurs.
The Exchange was created ‘for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs’ and has stayed true to that objective since forming in 1994. It is now an organisation with over 400 members, representing over £16.6 billion of turnover and 217,000 employees. Clearly it has a voice and its influence on government and economic development continues to grow.
I have been a member now for almost 8 years.
I thought it was worth sharing this with you guys because as you can see by the title the event was about you! The event format is good as it is small, only 12 people sitting at a table sharing experiences. The great thing is that is 12 heads of some of the most successful companies in Scotland.
As I am sure you can imagine every business was very different, however the one constant was people. I was encourage to hear that Equator had as much as everybody else to add on this topic and more importantly I was a bit of an authority in some areas which highlights how far Equator has come. The encouraging thing for me was that I was able to measure our development against other ambitious businesses and I have to say we are shaping up well.
I believe Equator provides a good environment for it’s people to develop and florish in their careers. The opportunity exists for everyone to grow in stature and worth within Equator; it simply comes down to what you put in determines what you get back!
Bye for now

Everyone has to start somewhere!
I have watched with anticipation almost everyone in the company getting to grips with our blogs. I have to say I am impressed. Some of the team really are dab hands at this. For me this is all new. I have of course been very aware of blogging for a long time but never actually participated. My attitude towards blogging has completely changed as the power of this medium is quite frankly the business!
So here I am typing into my first blog and not knowing what to say. I should have probably thought about it first, however my colleagues suggested I just sit down and type…
Our Clients
Like most businesses we have a varied client base, all with their own personalities. This is something that I thought was worth talking about. How do we provide the very best of service to our clients. This is obviously not a new thing as businesses have been striving to do this from the year dot. (well some of them anyway). There are some great examples of companies that have achieved excellence through superior service. For me it is simple, people buy from people! Building great client relations is no different than our personal lives. We work hard to build strong relationships through continued commitment and dedication and an overall desire to please.
Think about this the next time you are speaking to a client or responding to an email. We can all make a difference!
Remember excellence is not a skill it is an attitude.
For those that are interested this is worth a read.
Bye for now
