Weird or wonderful
This new gadget from Microsoft Research was created to aid people with Alzheimers by recording snapshots of their day that can be played back. The Vicon Revue is worn around the neck inobtrusively or can be clipped onto clothing. It’s quite simple really. Every few sseconds or minutes, depending on the settings, it snaps and records an image. Alternatively, it can be programmed to react to motion or temperature. Although it’s been designed as a research tool to help memory loss sufferers, this little snapper has lots of potential as an artistic or educational device. Imagine giving 10 year olds all over the world one to wear for a month and then sharing the resutls with all of them. That’d be a bit of an eye opener.
