I’m James; Creative Director and Co-founder of Equator.
I’m frank; I’ve always worked hard and said what I think.
Never had a job interview. Never had a real job. Never been professional. My career is simple – together with John McLeish and Garry Hamilton, I have designed and built a proper integrated agency. One with a digital heart.
We weren’t born yesterday – our user-focussed approach has generated billions in incremental business for our clients since 1999.
We are full of youthful excitement – the digital revolution, we are lucky to be living and working in, inspires and drives all of us everyday.
We call ourselves a digital-led integrated agency. Which means we are uniquely able to join-up the dots across on and offline media. Today, we have a team of 78 experts across two UK offices and an annual turnover of around £6m. We are still hungry. We are opening in London this year and New York next year.

There’s design that I like and design that I really don’t like. You’ll find rants or raves about both here.
I’m not very good at sticking to one type of design though so you’ll find me going on about product design, architecture, digital, advertising and more as if I am qualified to comment. Which, for the most part, I’m not.
