Affiliate Program Management

As someone who dabbles in affiliate bits and piece one in a while I am highly interested in how affiliate programs are managed. Working in an agency you see how agencies manage their affiliate programs and from sitting on the other side of the fence (trying to make money for myself) I have an interest in how the programs I work on are managed.

Who Manages my programs?

I basically work through two main affiliate networks: Buyat and Affiliate Window, both are good networks to work with. Generally they’re both really helpful affilate networks, sometimes communication isn’t as great as it could be - probably because I’m not a super affiliate.
Recently I joined the in house affiliate program on offer over at Forbidden Planet - I shop there a lot so even getting some cash back seems like a good thing :p
Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to be running some tests to discover just how good the management is by the networks and how this compares to the progarm ran inhouse by Forbidden Planet. Its not an exact science but I think it could be … illuminating.

Affiliate Program Management Tests

  1. How easy is it to get in conatct with someone who can help?
  2. How fast do they respond to my enquiries?
  3. How well do they respond to my enquiries?
  4. How far will they go ‘above and beyond’ to help me make more sales?

If you know of any other tests I should be running stick it in the comments below!
