Women’s fashion retailer Peacocks has appointed Equator to manage its search marketing account in a bid to raise the brand’s profile.

The six-figure account includes pay-per-click, natural search and affiliate marketing. It’s thought this is the first time the retailer, which rolled out its transactional site in September 2007, has used a digital agency to manage the accounts.

The Scottish agency is also undertaking a usability study of Peacocks’ website to find ways of improving the customer experience.

Garry Hamilton, business development at Equator, said, “We approached Peacocks as we have experience in retail and put forward some digital ideas. It’s making more of a significant online push now.”

Peacocks spent £13.3m on marketing last year, according to figures from Nielsen Media Research.
