Now that it has been vacated by the illustrious tech team, the Dungeon has closed its doors permanently and the building has been re-opened as “The West Wing” - a part of the nation state of Freedonia. We welcome you one and all to join our dictatorship democracy any time soon. Bring cake.

Yet again JJ has beaten everyone to the punch on the latest award for his blog. His latest award is for a “PageRanker“. During the recent PageRank update his post on Thonet bentwood chairs Google awarded him a mighty PageRank of 1.
Through all the sterling blogging that everyone at Equator has been up to the homepage of EquatorLive has been given a PageRank of 3. This is great step in the right direction and shows taht the Google Love for your blogs in starting to grow. On the next PageRank update I’m sure that Google will be awarding you all some of this love.
As an aside if you mouse over the link to JJs blog above you’ll see at the end of it it says ‘/trackback/’. Trackbacks are a great way of getting extra links - and growing your PageRank. By using this change to your links to other wordpress blogs you are likely to get a free link back from the people you link to. If you want to know any more about how trackbacks work speak to Mike or Colin.

Sycophantic as it may seem I am loving my job. The variety from day to day is brilliant, my team are genuinely enthused about what they do and enthuse me too (I like that attitude) and every week I have the opportunity to take this excitement forward to a client or potential client and make Equator money and (hopefully) me! I love being at the heart of innovation and surrounded by people who genuinely take an interest in what they do and I believe every member of my team reflects that. OK, so timeliness could be better and maybe they could be running less messenger clients (No really!) but I believe a good marketing team reflects outwards what they know, understand and enjoy and if that’s what our clients see then I believe we can beat all comers. Come on competition - show me the enthusiasm for what you do that I see. Also, can you beat Colin at Wii tennis? Didn’t think so!

The first GOLD cup has been issued. I can’t say I’m surprised that it went to a member of my team, nay, the bloglogger himself Colin Boyd. Why? Cold Hard Cash. By simply taking Les Sez quotes and putting them into a T-shirt vending commerce system, marking them up and then making a sale! Seems simple, but he took an idea and monetised it. At the end of the day, that’s what EquatorLIVE should ultimately do - make MONEY!! So well done Colin. The FIRST Gold cup! NOW, can YOU come up with a GOLD idea? No holds barred!

Dexy was our first winner for “First Edited Template”

So, what do YOU do with it? Well, you all have a blogin - the login for your blog. Style it how you like, add fun, readable and engaging content and get stuck in. Every client I’ve spoken to in the last few months wants to know about Social Media and this site is at the heart of a lot of that stuff - so make sure you play your part. It’s not tied down to the floor with heavy duty regulations but there are some play it safe rules. Be sure to read them and stick to them - they’re on the Live Launch page.
It doesn’t end there. You can create your own blog templates, drag in RSS feeds, video feeds, link to relevant content in your blogroll, see who’s whooping yo’ ass at Wii Tennis and so much more. You can assist us here in marketing to develop even more new ideas on it. After all, everything that this site is doing right now we’ve got a client interested in it. Have you got some ideas you’d like to stick in our sandbox? EquatorLIVE is at your disposal! Just think, your idea could be on there WORKING, we could be at a pitch tomorrow discussing your idea and actually show it IN ACTION on the site.
I am very enthusiastic about the potential of this site, the potential of us all blogging, the opportunities to show off our skills in a very open and fun way and I’m up for getting you ALL involved.
So, if you don’t like something, don’t moan. Just work out how to make it better then fix it. Job done. Want a new plugin for your blog? Figure it out and throw it at us? Want a better looking template? Make one! It’s just CSS and images. Want to try something completely now. Get stuck in - all enthusiasts welcome!
We’re probably the first agency out there to give everyone a blog - a PR-able item in itself (as long as you lot use it!)
