Bottled Water Can Be Environmentally Friendly
» Escrito en NotWork por martinwjordan a las 18:18In a query started over on a Green Power blog about the “environmental impact of bottled water“, the authors ask just that. Is there a big impact? Can it be made smaller? Bottled mineral and spring water obviously has some issues. it has to be bottled and it has to be shipped. But it can be a positive thing for the environment through the process of a few simple steps. Making the bottles out of recyclable, rapidly biodegradable plastics, enforcing glass recycling, local sourcing (buy British!), environmental land protection (the kind Highland Spring employs) and generally being smarter about the whole thing. After all, recycling bottles, plastic or glass is the law in Holland! And there’s no denying, unless you’re lucky, Bottled water DOES taste better than tap water, whether it be mineral or spring. Well, apart from Dasani. it tasted awful! That and that Calcium enriched stuff Danone brought out. Ghastly.
