If I had a million pounds

I was chatting the other day when the conversation turned to why on earth people who win the lottery exhibit such a lack of imagination when spending their windfall.

The conversation then turned, rather predictably I’m sorry to say, to what I would do if I won the lottery. It turned out that this is one of life’s important questions - it’s the people that are unprepared for this sudden glut of dough that end up frittering it on trifles. It is therefore vital for all of us that we prepare ourselves for this outside chance (I’m sure, like me you’ve got a plan if you wake up to a world of zombies, or are in the middle of a shark attack).

I therefore have put my steak in the sand with the following plan. I will spend my money on creating an exact replica of the Lotus Esprit in the 1977 James Bond romp, The Spy Who Loved Me. I won’t however tell my wife until we’re on the end of a small pier in Sardinia travelling at around 60mph - what a wheeze!

What would you spend it on?
