Twitter Keyword Targeting

Twitter recently announced that it will be rolling out keyword targeting on the social media network.  This is a new advertising venture which will support promoted tweets to reach targeted users based on their live conversations.

This new feature, according to Twitter, will allow businesses to “reach users at the right moment, in the right context”. Using keyword search, it will enable your business to promote products or services more specifically.

Blogger outreach: make friends and influence people

The recent 2013 Digital Influence Report from Technorati offered some interesting insights into which social media channels are seen to have the most value by consumers, and ultimately having most influence.

According to the study, blog-related activity ranked higher than Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites when it came to actually influencing purchases, despite receiving significantly less investment from brands.

So should brands be paying more attention to blogger outreach?

Facebook consider the hashtag

Facebook is working on adopting the hashtag for their social media platform; competing with the social media platform home of the hashtag – Twitter. Facebook is said to intend to use the marker in a bid to pull together trending conversations on the site. So will it work for Facebook as well as it has for Twitter?
