Updates to Google Shopping Feed

When the switch of Google Shopping from a free to a paid for service was announced, the reasoning given was the failure of merchants to keep their product information up to date.

This was a major issue which greatly reduced the relevance of the results – Google’s Holy Grail – by displaying prices and products in Product Listing Ads which were no longer available on the advertised website.

Enhanced Campaigns Upgrade Centre

With the deadline for migration to AdWords Enhanced Campaigns looming only a couple of months away, account managers face an increasingly burgeoning ‘to-do’ list. The transition from Legacy to Enhanced format is naturally going to involve a lot of upheaval, though this should be short-term pain for long-term gain as the benefits of being able to better contextually target campaigns take hold.

PPC Reels in Smart Shoppers

The internet – it’ll be the death of the high street. Anyone who works in digital marketing has lost count of the amount of heated debates they have engaged in which have begun with a sweeping statement such as this.

Keyword Bulk Editing

This month, Google has introduced keyword bulk uploads to allow users to add, edit and remove keywords at a large scale.

Keyword bulk upload can be found from the keyword report download window.  When users click the ‘Editable’ box, an editable version of the keyword performance report will download.

Enhanced Campaign Improvements

In April, it was announced that Enhanced Campaigns will also include social annotations where they can improve performance, without additional edits required to campaign settings.  All you need to qualify is a Google+ page with at least 100 followers and a linked website that matches the URL in your ads.

Changes to Enhanced Campaigns

Many PPC specialists have been reticent about the release of Google’s Enhanced Campaigns (EC) in AdWords for fear of increased CPCs (cost-per-clicks) with the integration of mobile and tablet and desktop bids into one campaign.  Some were confused as to why Google would launch these new campaigns to encourage mobile, but then only allow the user to modify their bids at campaign level.

Google Analytics User Permissions

Taking heed from user feedback, Google has launched enhanced access controls for their Google Analytics interface. In the previous setup, the only option was to apply a role to account and profile access – either user or administrator. With Google’s most recent Analytics developments however, two main areas have been revamped: permission types and permission levels.
