Equator’s mountain walkers take on The Cobbler

the_cobler_walk_1

Our team of walking enthusiasts took on The Cobbler (also known as Ben Arthur) on Sunday. Laura, Kirsty, Sharon, Vickie, Emma, Seth, Garry and Brent faced Scotland’s unpredictable winter weather and completed the walk which is all in an effort to continue supporting our charity of choice Neil’s Wheels.

Just over an hour north of Glasgow and part of the Arrochar Alps, the team stepped out into what looked like a scene from Narnia to complete the picturesque 881 metre walk which took around 3.5 hours. But it was well worth facing the cold winds and snow underfoot to witness Scotland’s rural mountains and scenery.  For some of the team it was their first walking experience but not for Laura who took on Mount Kilimanjaro last year.

Over the next 5 months the team plan to complete another 10 walks, including 6 munros where the last walk will take them up Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain standing 1344m above sea level. Of course the most important part of the teams efforts will be the money they raise for Neil’s Wheels, a local charity who raise money to buy sports wheelchairs for children with a range of disabilities to allow them to take part in sporting activities with their peers.

We think this is a pretty impressive start and we can’t wait to see how they get on. Go Team Equator!

Wrangler gets moving online

Wrangler

We are always scouring the web in search of unique and interesting designs that capture an audience and work to encourage user interaction. We like to discuss what’s good and what’s not so good out there so we can take this information and combine it with our own experience and knowledge.

A site we have talked about lately is Wrangler online. Their website is a good example of how online video combined with interactive elements can create an interesting way to showcase products to potential customers. The clean design with crisp type mixed with high quality video and smooth interactive user actions creates a visually attractive offering that is successful in building intrigue and encouraging users to buy into the brands image.

The overall design and concept has been executed well however we feel it could be improved by introducing a story behind the videos and interactive elements. By creating a purpose to the video and interactivity the users would have a stronger motive to engage with the content which would work towards pulling them in and immersing them within the brand.
