Well, where to begin – i haven’t been around these parts for a long time. Anyway, i thought id ease myself gently back into things with some pictures taken on my recent trip to Northern Italy. We stayed in a medieval village called Barga which has many historical links with Scotland. It was great – being without television, mobile phone reception and internet for a week was rather refreshing.
All photos were taken on my trusty (but fairly poor) Nokia 6500 mobile:

Castelnuovo di Garfagnana - Lovely wee market town

Spectacular pool at Il Ciocco hotel outside Barga

Lucca was full of spectacular cathedrals

Ponte della Maddelena (or Ponte del Diavolo), Tuscany

Spectacular scenery around the Grotta Del Vento caves
More info:
Id recommend this trip to anyone (Ryanair fly from Prestwick to Pisa – Barga is about 1 and a half hours in the car) – just be prepared for some psychopathic driving and you’ll be fine……….
